Galen Abbott was born in Seattle in 1978 and began his musical career at the age of 12, generally focusing on jazz and traditional blues. Travelling in Europe during high school, he took part at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival, playing rhythm and solo guitar in big bands as well as a trio with bass and piano.
While completing his pre-med studies at in Los Angeles he began playing rock and rhythm& blues in various bands, as well as some work as a studio guitarist for a number of different labels.
His current work focuses on a mix of these experiences, where songwriting and traditional blues and jazz are mixed with more conventional music and songs in order to appease an audience that is growing more and more x-factor dependent.
When in Europe, he generally plays with his lawyer and personal adviser, Pietro Sconza. This generally depends on the latter’s sobriety. He has a weakness for fine wine and women, much like his attorney.
His current work is based a great deal on the following artists: Conor Oberst, Rodriguez, Tom Waits, Doc Watson, Dylan, Chris Thomas King, and many others
